On March 31st 2017, there was an article posted on Boeing which talks about how the Dreamliner, Boeing 787-10, just completed its first flight that day. The 787 Dreamliner is the newest release and longest model of the 787 family. The Dreamliner took off at Boeing’s South Carolina facility.

Here is what Kevin McAllister the Commercial Airplanes President and CEO has to say about this. “The 787-10’s first flight moves us one step closer to giving our customers the most efficient airplane in its class. The airplane will give carriers added flexibility in growing their network routes and build on the overwhelming success of the 787 Dreamliner family.”

There will be more testing for the 787-10 that will be going on before many customers take delivery in the beginning of 2018.

It seems like everything went smoothly, just as Boeing’s chief 787 pilot expected, Tim Berg. “From takeoff to landing, the airplane handled beautifully and just as expected. The 787-10 is a fantastic machine that I know our customers and their passengers will love.”

On March 9th 2017, there was an article posted on Aerospace Technology that talks about how Embraer unveiled a new E195-E2 commercial airplane in Brazil. This is was Embraer’s Brazil facility located in Sao Jose dos Campos Brazil. This aircraft will have a single aisle for the seating arrangement. This aircraft will be expected to deliver during the beginning of 2019.There is also a configuration of 120 seats in two classes or it can be arranged in a configuration of 146 seats in a single class. This program is considered to be $1.7B.

Here is what Luis Affonso, the Embraer Commercial Aviation COO, has to say about this. “We introduced in the proven E-Jets platform all new technologies that would add value to customers. One example is the fourth generation of fly-by-wire, which allowed a 20% reduction of the empennage area, minimizing drag and weight. The airplane will save up to 24% in fuel and 20% in maintenance costs a seat, when compared to the current E195.” Embraer was founded in August 19, 1969.
