Bombardier Confident It Will Reach 2017 Delivery Target
On March 10th 2017, there was an article on AIN Online written by Gregory Polek which talks about how Bombardier is confident that it will reach their C Series delivery target for 2017. Bombardier, the Canadian airframe maker, as goals of hitting somewhere between 30 and 35 airplanes this year. It was Swiss International Airlines that was the first airline to accept the first C Series delivery for the year. Overall this is the sixth Bombardier CS100 that Swiss International Airlines has taken delivery on.
Bombardier is still confident aside from the fact that there was a bit of fan blade problems with Pratt & Whitney as they have assured customers that they will solve technical issues related to the blade as well as engines.
There is what Rick Deurloo, the Pratt & Whitney vice president of sales and marketing for commercial engines, had to say about this topic during the International Society of Transport Aircraft Traders conference in San Diego. “We recognize that we are causing some challenges right now. There’s an industrial piece and there’s a technical piece.”
As for the fan problems, here is what Deurloo has to say about that. “Today, we feel that all the processes we have in place [are] taking us the right way. That being said, we know we still have some challenges.”
