ASAP Aerosupplies has aircraft components and access to end items including but not limited to those associated with the Grumman A-10 Thunderbolt aircraft. The A-10 Thunderbolt II, or as it is sometimes called the “Warthog," was engineered for the purpose of serving the United States Air Force. Built by the OEM Team of the Fairchild Republic Company, the A-10 Grumman aircraft is currently a piece of Northrop Grumman Corporation Aerospace Systems Eastern Region.
The A-10 Thunderbolt II was selected for a prototype study in the 1960s to define requirements that could protect combat troops on the ground. Selection was based on low elevation mobility, lethality, survivability, and strategic viability. The structure of the aircraft that can achieve these criteria includes a titanium "tub" that shields the pilot from injury, and dually excess flight control frameworks that permit the pilot to fly the airplane out of enemy fire. The results of this study have been used in both the Desert Storm strife of the 1990's and in the later Enduring Freedom, Iraqi Freedom, and Global War on Terror commitment.
Since the aircraft’s first use, the A-10 Thunderbolt aircraft has undergone several modifications including installation of the Low Altitude Safety and Targeting Enhancement ground collision avoidance system from the 1980s, and the Night Vision Imaging System from the 1990s. Additionally, it has also shown alterations in flight maneuver spectra, mission, and force structure.
Some critical specifications of the A-10 aircraft is that it has a thrust of 9,065 pounds for each engine, a wingspan of 57 feet, 6 inches (17.42 meters), a length of 53 feet, 4 inches (16.16 meters), a height of 14 feet, 8 inches (4.42 meters), and a weight of 29,000 pounds (13,154 kilograms)
